This listing is for a DIGITAL DOWNLOADABLE FILE and not a finished product. In this pattern, you will learn how to make the Maverick Crossbody Bag by Maple + Sunshine Boutique!

 

The Maverick Crossbody is a versatile small to medium size purse. Its unique construction features a front flap with 5 multi-card slots, 2 zippered pockets, 2 interior cash slots, an optional cell phone pocket, optional key ring holder, and optional fringe to achieve a variety of different styles. 

 

Skill Level - Advanced Beginner / Domestic Machine Friendly 

 

Finished Dimensions - 8” wide X 5” high X 1” deep

 

Materials & Hardware - 

 

•    1/4 yard exterior fabric

•    1/4 yard accent A fabric 

•    1/2 accent B fabric

•    1 yard SF101 or comparable interfacing 

•    1/4 yard Peltex or comparable heavy stabilizer such as Kraftex

•    (1) Turn Lock or 18mm magnetic closure for Front Flap. 

•    (2-3) 8mm or medium rivets

•    (2) 3/4” D-rings OR (2) 1” circle rings

•    (2) 3/4” swivel clasp (This pattern is written with a 3/4” strap. If you prefer a thinner or thicker strap, you can adjust and use 1/2” or 1” instead.)

•    (2) 6” pieces of zipper tape  with pulls or (2) zippers cut to the length of 6”. You can use either #3 or #5 for this pattern based on your preferences. 

•    Optional - (1) 18mm magnetic closure for optional cell phone pocket

•    Optional - 1/2” swivel clasp for key ring holder

•    Optional - Small scrap of vinyl, cork or leather for fringes and key ring holder. This must be large enough for (2) 4 1/2” x 5” rectangles for fringes and (1) 1/2” x 3” strip for key holder.

 

Important Note - If you are using directional fabric, you may need slightly more depending on your prints. If your fabric is not at least 58” wide, you will need to make sure you get enough for your strap length of 58”, or you can piece two strips together for the full length. You can also opt to use canvas  webbing for your strap if desired.
